At Jet Black Farms, we take pride in being a local small business that is deeply rooted in our community. Our family-owned and family-centered approach shapes everything we do, from the products we offer to the events we host, and the relationships we build with our customers. We believe that being part of a community means more than just providing goods and services; it's about fostering connections and supporting each other.
Our commitment to quality is reflected in the care and dedication we put into our breeding program. We strive to create a welcoming environment where families can come together, learn about our animals, get hands-on experience on the farm, and enjoy quality time together!

Our sweet girl CoCo, recently calved!
Introducing Clara [Clarabelle]
On February 27th, around 6:30am, CoCo calved a sweet little brown and white Texas Longhorn heifer. This was CoCo’s first calf. She did an amazing job, unassisted & smooth! She is taking care of her calf beautifully, and has been letting us work with the both of them, without any issues. Everything we could have hoped for!
As of right now, Clara will be weaned & ready to find a new home, in August. Until then, we will be socializing her with both kids & adults through our events, working with her daily in halter training and basic control, and otherwise soaking up all the baby calf love that we can!
If you’re interested in reserving Clara before we officially post her in August, jump on our waitlist! In the meantime, keep an eye on our socials for updated pics and videos of her new life, here at Jet Black Farms!
Meet the Blacks
Jet Black Farms, located in Manchester, Maryland, was founded by Brendan and Miranda in 2023, and officially opened to the public in June 2024!
What started as a small homestead with a few chickens and goats, quickly became everything we could have ever dreamt of! Today our farm is home to miniature & mid-size cows (Scottish Highlands, Texas Longhorns, & Highland crosses), goats, sheep, miniature donkeys, chickens, four cats, and our two dogs.
When we are not tending to the animals, we are working full time jobs and raising our four kids on the farm. Brendan works as a Police K9 Officer for the county, while Miranda is a Newborn & Postpartum Care Nurse. Miranda’s love of birthwork and babies, made for an effortless transition into starting our breeding program here on the farm.
Our breeding program has grown over the years, specializing in miniature, micro and midsize Scottish Highland & HighPark Cattle, as well as a Pygmy goats. We pride ourselves on choosing only the best cows and goats for our programs, and ensure only healthy and breed-appropriate genetics, are replicated over the generations.
We have valued mentors all across the United States that have helped us build a quality fold, ensuring the success of producing top quality mid-size and miniature cattle and goats, for our customers across the country.
When purchasing cattle from us, your calf will come fully vaccinated, socialized with all animals & children(!), and will have started halter training. We strive to produce beautiful, healthy, friendly, and snuggly, calves and kids (baby goats), that our customers will love for a lifetime.
